Attraction is a Belief

April 6, 2007 drewrozell 6 Comments

More writing to be done. But today I’m going to make the best of the last season snow and sunshine and hit the slopes one more time. Here’s another video in my Law of Attraction series that’s got all the TV networks after me 🙂

Drew! AMAZING. I am going to share this with my readers tomorrow as well. I am just blown away. You summed it all up so perfectly. Awesome!

Drew, I respect your thoughts on "Attraction", however I do disagree. I know that we attract what we think about, I know that what we think about expands and that this is the Universal Law of Attraction at work. The Universe does not distringuish between good and bad, therefore it does not judge what we attract, therefore we can attract things that we may view as bad. We are also of a universal consciousness, meaning that what we attract as a group is at play also.

    Hi Mark —

I’m not exactly clear what you disagree with…?

I would not dispute any of the points you make above. I resonate strongly with those points as they are all fundamentals of attraction, yes?

The only thing I can gather from what you wrote is that you write that you “know” and my piece was about attraction being a “belief.” To be clear, I “know” that attraction is where it’s at. That’s my truth. My personal truth. And that guides how I live my life every day. If you press me, I’d admit to believing that an organized universe where our thoughts and feelings dictate our experience is THE TRUTH.

But for me, I tend to shy away from anyone who professes to *know* THE TRUTH. People have tried to put their version of THE TRUTH on me, and I never liked it much. For me to say that this attraction is THE TRUTH would make me just as ego driven and self-righteous as I thought those people were(and I already have enough of that going on. :))

Yes, I see much evidence for attraction. Certainly from my personal experience, and certainly from quantum physics. While all of that supports the theory of attraction, there is no way to “prove” it just as there is no way to prove (or disprove) the existence of God. In my mind, it comes down to what you believe.

Mark, I may have missed your point entirely, and I am happy to hear more of your thoughts. And this was fun for me to think about…

    best,

    Hi Drew and Mark

I think the appeal of the Law of Attraction is that it has in fact been labelled a ‘law’ – immutable and unmoving – something supposedly solid and dependable. This is certainly how people have been writing and talking about it. This sense of certainty is appealing because it offers comfort in the TRUTH, or as Drew would say, ‘A’ TRUTH.

The whole point is not to argue about whether it is true or not, but to see how living the law, or understanding the law, or feeling into the law brings about results in your life. Not the materialistic ones necessarily, but the deeper more profound ones where each day feels like joy, where there is a sense of freedom, happiness, and peace.

Whether you believe in the Law of Attraction, or Christianity, Islam, or Buddhism for that matter – if you achieve these feelings – is that not a worth a little faith? I think so. So I choose to believe in the ‘law’ of attraction. It brings me peace, joy, and freedom. This is what I share with the world and this is what feels good.

I wish you the same sense of peace and comfort, whatever your truth.

    Zoe

    Hi Drew,
Good to see your face and hear your voice. Rather off the subject of this video….I see the neck of a guitar in the background? Do you play??? Good luck with the home improvement! Debbie

    Drew,
Maybe I misunderstood what you were saying. My take was that you were comparing the Law of Attraction to a persons religious belief. To me there is a big difference between what you know and faith. Seemed to me that you were saying that the law of attraction was simply another form of faith.
After reading your comment, I believe we are on the same page. Would you agree?
I agree, I don’t do well with people who tell me that there is only one way, their way. I am open to possibilities, however to me the law of attraction falls into the same category as the law of gravity.
