Become Super-Sensitive to What Comes Out of Your Mouth

December 5, 2012 drewrozell 7 Comments

Words activate thoughts. Thoughts activate feelings. Feelings give off an energetic signal. The energetic signal you put out to the world is the same energetic signal you will see and experience in your life.

A good way to make inroads to creating a Very Cool Life is to start by upgrading your language. Become super-sensitive to the words that pass through your lips. Get in the habit of choking on your words that do not feel good to speak – no matter how “true” the story may be. Eliminate words that vividly describe unwanted events like hate, awful, horrible, terrible, tragic… and so on.

After a while, as you get better at keeping your focus on the good things in life, when you hear people use those sorts of words, the sound of them will remind you of a piano player hitting the wrong key. You’ll notice that the person using them is usually going down the rabbit hole of telling a story, attracting one dark thought after another.

Some people push back on this idea:

But it’s true! It was awful! She really did die!

Isn’t it terrible what’s going on with the government?

Isn’t it awful what’s happening in (some part of the country/world)?

Remember, events wanted and unwanted happen in everyone’s life. The key to living a Very Cool Life resides in how you respond to those events. People who talk about terrible events are tuned into that frequency. They notice lots of terrible events. Look more closely and you’ll notice that they attract more terrible events in their own life to talk about.

Choose to become deliberate in the words that you allow to come out of your mouth. Talk about what you want. Talk about subjects that make you feel good. Incorporate this one habit of aligning your speech with your desires and you will soon see more good things showing up in your life.

“But I talk too fast to watch what I say,” my friend said when I told him about the power of this habit.

“If I were to choose my words, I’d have to be aware of what I say all the time,” he added.

And this is exactly the point, I told him.

Good one. I would add not only what comes out of our mouths but also out of our fingertips onto things like Facebook and e-mails

Something “drew me” to have a look at your recent emails today, and the article above in particular caught my attention. It seems to me that this concept is very poignant today….. The news, and the media in general have a slightly negative bent, even though they are only portraying some “truth” that may be out there. I believe that we all “tune in” to this at one level or another, even though we may not consider ourselves negative people. Because “news” is paid for by the corporate world through “advertising”, which in turn derives its revenue from paying customers, indeed we do “attract” more negativity when we “pay attention” to it, both figuratively and literally.

What if we all cut back on this tenancy by 10%? What if we then cut it back by 20%……

The results would be astonishing in my estimation, and it may also help all of us to do what you are suggesting in the article above…

Sounds simple, but see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil, and repeat…..

    The results might be astounding!
