Many years ago, I took some time to do some imaging of things I would like.
I wanted to create a book, so I basked in the thoughts that would feel good about having done so.
Several thoughts came readily to mind; one always lingered…
I thought it would be really cool to see someone on a beach reading my book.
Fast forward to the present day, and I have created that book. (And yes, it’s a very good feeling).
Recently, my friend and fellow author Fiona Leonard sent me this photo, taken by her husband on a beach in Africa.
A photography fan, I loved the crispness of the photo. I loved the idea of my book being read across the world. And I loved the thought that my vision had come to fruition — I’d stumbled across someone reading my book on the beach!
I’ve known Fiona for several years, so I thanked her for sending me the photo and somehow remembering my vision from so long ago.
“Nope. You never told me that one,” she replied.
That’s even cooler, I thought.
Very, very cool!
good stuff Drew!
The picture was taken on a beach in Ghana in an area known as ‘Kokrobite’. I have a pet peeve with people saying ‘Africa’ when the country can be specified. I’m the ‘pretty lady’ reading the book so I have some insider info 🙂
Congratulations on achieving your goal
@Nana Darkoa: Nana: Nice to have you as part of the unfolding of all this.
Originally, I know I wrote Ghana in the photo description. Had some glitch where the photo was not appearing and in the second draft I must have changed it to Africa.
(Another thought of mine was to have my book on every continent. Still need Antarctica!)
🙂
I promise to take a copy to Antarctica if I make it there…its not on my wish list though. What other countries are on your wish list? (in terms of where you want your book to be read?)
