the Green Mts. of Vermont
It’s still winter here, of course.
But yesterday we had a break, a thaw.
It was the first time that temperatures reached high enough to do some melting in many weeks.
Karin, Tasha, and I took our usual walk to the top of the hill behind our house in the sunshine. The 40 plus degree temps felt warm in contrast to the rest of the season.
We even saw a few robins darting from the trees, feeding on the apples that still clung to the trees from autumn.
For the first time all season, I started to think about Spring and how lovely it will be to feel the warmer air, to open the windows, to smell the flowers.
All that will be nice.
But it’s a ways down the road.
There’s still skiing to be done.
In the warm sunshine.
See you on the mountain?
