Was watching “Iconoclasts” on the Sundance channel. I’ve seen this program twice now and I think it will become a favorite. The first one paired Deepak Chopra and Mike Myers, allowing them to tell their stories and share how their (seemingly divergent) lives intersect.
Tonight was Norman Lear (legendary writer/director) and Howard Shultz (Starbucks CEO).
Was floored by a bit of wisdom shared by Mr. Lear. I do not have a TIVO, so I am paraphrasing…
He said each man should carry a piece of paper in each pocket.
In one pocket, the paper contains the words “I am but dust and ash.”
In the other, the paper contains the words “The world was created for me.”
Love that…
