Myth #1: Attraction is a tool to be used when you want to get something.
Sometimes people will ask me a question prefaced by the phrase, "how do I use the Law of Attraction to…?"
In my experience, this type of question usually represents a fundamental misunderstanding of what the whole concept of Attraction really represents. When people ask me how they can use the Law of Attraction, I have found that they are often coming from the perspective that Attraction is a kind of tool to be wielded whenever they want some help in getting something.
Attraction is better thought of as a philosophy; it’s a way of looking at how the universe is organized.
This understanding of the universe is most simply stated as "like energy attracts like energy". Keep in mind that everything is all made up of the same stuff — energy. Your thoughts, your coffee cup, your body — all of it is made up of quanta — tiny particles of energy that arrange themselves in different patterns.
All energy travels in waves and waves have different amplitudes and frequencies. These waves make up the "vibrations" commonly referred to in attraction process. This is the physics that supports the Law of Attraction.
Simple enough, right?
So let’s debunk that myth that Attraction is something that you can choose to use or not use. Attraction presents a model of how the universe is. Of course you are free to choose to operate from that model or not. But just as the Law of Gravity is in effect even when you are not paying particularly close attention to it, so is the Law of Attraction is in operation all the time.
As a final note, if you resonate with the concept of Attraction and wish to create your experiences deliberately rather than default, I believe you are best served by taking it on as a way of seeing everything that happens in your life. Everything. While many people resonate with the concept of Attraction ("the whole like attracts like thing just feels right"), many of these same people are not willing to make that critical leap to take total responsibility for being the architect of their lives.
