The rain from the other day turned to snow and ice.
Weather is just part of the deal in living out here and I tend to enjoy it when with Mother Nature flexes her muscles. While the ice made travel treacherous for a day, knocked out my internet satellite, and took its toll on several our our trees, today was perhaps the most beautiful day that I’ve experienced in my four years of living out here (and there have been many amazing days).
The ice encased everything, reflected the light from the bright sun. Took Tasha and P-Nut for a walk (does anyone else have a cat that goes for walks like a dog?) and took several dozen photos. Looking at them, I feel like I hit the limits of my point and shoot digital camera. Of course, maybe the limitations exist in the photographer as well, but the beauty I experienced today did not make it in the photos. Did my best to capture it though…
Posted 17 photos on my Facebook and Flickr pages, here’s some I like…

shot of the valley from the top of the hill. spectacular.
the tangles of my birch tree
icicles on my observation deck
I am so grateful to have so much beauty around me. Sure, I have to drive 30 minutes for most things… but it’s worth it to live in this environment…
Environment is everything.
